Hemsedal is one of the best ski areas in Scandinavia with downhill skiing of high quality. The climate is stable and makes Hemsedal very snow safe.

Summer Activities
Fishing - From 01 June till 15. September Hemsedal offers unique fishing opportunities.
Summer in Hemsedal is an angler's paradise, with long, fast-flowing rivers and numerous mountain lakes.
The rivers and lakes are crystal clear and hold wild brown trout in their prime. Fishing in Hemsila River presents a great challenge.
Hiking - There are many scenic walks in Hemsedal and the surrounding area. You can hike in the high mountains, through snowdrifts and rocks, at the timberline along rivers and creeks, or along paths and old cultural landscape in the valley. From old times there are paths and old packhorse trails leading to the mountain pastures.
Biking - Hemsedal is an excellent starting point for many good cycle trips. The routes are varied and run through beautiful nature with wild, majestic mountains and vigorous valley parts.
